Wholesaling, retailing GVA MOP21.92 bln in 2014

The annual gross value added of Macau’s wholesaling and retailing industries combined increased by 5.4 percent to MOP21.92 billion (about US$2.74 billion) last year, the Statistics and Census Service says.

The service’s data indicate that the annual receipts of these industries grew by 10.3 percent to MOP114.48 billion.

At the end of last year Macau had 14,022 wholesalers and retailers, including market stalls and fixed stalls in the street, 750 more than a year earlier.

The number of people engaged in wholesaling and retailing rose by 13.2 percent to 61,601 – 47,717 of them employees.
