Two-thirds of casino managers are Macau residents

Macau residents occupy two-thirds of management positions at Macau’s six casino companies.

In his Policy Address for 2014 to the Legislative Assembly, Secretary for the Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen said 232 casino managers – 32 percent of the total – were outsiders. The figures come from the casinos.

Mr Tam said the government would insist that the casinos gradually increase the proportion of Macau residents.

He also said talks on the renewal of gaming concessions should not be constrained by the cap on the number of live gaming tables, but did not say if the cap would be abolished.
