Tourist price inflation slows to 0.82 pct in Q2

The annual rate of tourist price inflation in Macau fell to 0.82 per cent in the second quarter of this year, slowing for the fourth quarter in a row, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service attributes the second-quarter deceleration to hotel rooms costing less than a year earlier. Accommodation prices fell by 2.82 per cent.

The inflation of tourist prices was due mainly to higher prices in restaurants in particular and for food in general.
