Tourist price annual inflation 2.43 pct in 2014Q4

The annual rate of tourist price inflation was 2.43 percent in the fourth quarter of last year, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service attributes the inflation mainly to the higher cost of eating in restaurants and higher prices for food bought elsewhere.

The annual rate of restaurant services price inflation for tourists was 8.48 percent.

Food, alcoholic drink and tobacco price inflation for tourists was 6.22 percent.

In contrast, hotel accommodation prices for tourists deflated by 2.65 percent.
