Three-day festival likely to bring casino windfall

Gaming industry analysts expect gross gaming revenue to reach at least MOP29 billion (US$3.63 billion) this month, boosted by the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival beginning tomorrow.

Sterne Agee analyst David Bain raised his forecast of gross gaming revenue to MOP29 billion, 21 percent more than a year earlier. Before, he predicted growth of 16 percent.

Mr Bain said table-only gross gaming revenue was MOP14.4 billion in the first two weeks of the month.

Also, RBC Capital Markets raised its growth forecast to between 23 percent and 26 percent from 20 percent.
