Secretary for the Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen has said gross gaming revenue in Macau’s casinos could be lower this month than a year ago.
Last month gaming revenue was MOP25.6 billion (about US$3.2 billion), 11.7 percent less than a year earlier.
“It was nearly a 12 percent drop in September gaming revenue, and we expect the decline will be steeper in October,” Mr Tam told reporters.
“We estimate that this trend may last from now to the first half of next year,” he said.
