Strong start for PokerStars’ new live room

PokerStars’ newly branded live poker room at Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd’s City of Dreams had a strong first weekend, the online poker company said.

The first two tournaments held there, included in the Macau Poker Cup series, drew back-to-back 300-player fields, the company said.

The City of Dreams’ PokerStars room opened its doors on Friday, with the latest instalment of the Macau Poker Cup series launching the new venue.

The Macau Poker Cup runs until next Sunday.

“There’s been a huge buzz about the PokerStars poker room moving to the City of Dreams,” Danny McDonagh (pictured), PokerStars director of live poker operations in the Asia-Pacific said in a statement. “It’s an amazing start.”
