Sterne Agee lowers June gaming revenue forecast

Sterne Agee says table-only gross gaming revenue in Macau’s casinos amounted to MOP19.2 billion (US$2.3 billion) in the first 22 days of this month.

The stockbroker estimates that, including slot machine revenue, the run-rate so far this month is MOP27.2 billion, 4 percent less than a year ago.

It has lowered its forecast of gross gaming revenue for the month, now predicting that revenue will be between 2 percent and 6 percent less than a year ago, in view of effect of the football World Cup, which tends to draw gamblers away from casinos.
