Deutsche Bank thinks that banning smoking in casinos means they will have US$3.4 billion (about MOP27.1 billion) less gross gaming revenue next year less than it would otherwise forecast.

The bank says in a note that prospect of the ban means it has reduced its forecast of gaming revenue next year to US$28.7 billion or 5.6 per cent less than this year, from US$32.1 billion or 2.2 per cent more.

The bank assumes the government will ban smoking in the VIP gaming areas of casinos on January 1.
