A contract-signing ceremony took place at the Judiciary Police (PJ) Taipa branch yesterday morning, after which 70 intern inspectors took office in PJ. The 16th training course for intern criminal inspectors was held between last August and February of this year. Before the inauguration, intelligence tests, fitness testing, body checks, psychological tests as well as interviews had been carried out since March last year. 75 candidates qualified for the training with 70 passing all examinations. The 70 interns, as required by law, are to undertake a one year internship at inspection departments of the PJ. Intern investigators are to attend two professional interviews during their one-year internship. Those who pass all evaluations will then become second-class criminal inspectors, as announced in the press release. Speaking at the contract-signing ceremony yesterday, Director Mr. Wong Sio Chak pointed out that social security had become more complicated as Macau’s community and economy have grown rapidly over the last decade, bringing further difficulties, challenges and stresses to the police authority. He thereby encouraged intern investigators to take on responsibility conferred by the law. In addition, the police authority anticipates the workload will be alleviated with the increase in the number of intern staff.
