Research house forecasts soft VIP gaming revenue

Union Gaming Research Macau expects Macau’s revenue from VIP gaming to remain soft for the foreseeable future.

The research house says growth in VIP gaming revenue kept decelerating in the second quarter of this year, and that last month it eventually contracted, being about 20 percent lower than a year earlier.

The research house thinks this run-rate has largely continued this month.

But it thinks mass-market gaming revenue will keep growing at an annual rate of 30 percent or more in the short run.
