Rents for street-level shop premises plunge in H1

Rents for shops at street level in Macau, especially shops in tourist areas, fell steeply in the first half of this year, estate agents say.

Jones Lang LaSalle Macau associate director Oliver Tong told a press conference that street-level shop rents may have fallen by up to 30 per cent in the first half.

Centaline (Macau) Property Agency Ltd senior regional sales director Roy Ho Siu Hang told another press conference that the average rent for street-level shops in the city centre was MOP206.50 (about US$25.81) per square foot in the first half, 45 per cent less than a year earlier.
