Q3 retail sales shrink 7.7 pct to MOP14.61 bln

The value of retail sales in Macau fell to MOP14.61 billion (about US$1.83 billion) in the third quarter of this year, 7.7 per cent less than a year earlier, official data indicate.

The Statistics and Census Service says sales of luxuries such as watches, clocks and jewellery shrank by 17.5 per cent to MOP3.4 billion.

Sales of motor vehicles and leather goods also contracted.

But sales of cosmetics, sanitary goods and clothes for adults grew.
