Q2 VIP baccarat revenue plunges to MOP31.57 bln

Gross gaming revenue from baccarat played by VIPs in Macau’s casinos decreased to MOP31.57 billion (about US$4 billion) in the second quarter of this year, 42.2 per cent less than a year earlier, official data indicate.

Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau figures show VIP baccarat accounted for about 55.5 per cent of gross gaming revenue in the second quarter, having accounted for 58.2 per cent in the first.

The second-quarter percentage was the lowest since the fourth quarter of 2005.
