Property association chief gloomy about housing

Macau General Association of Real Estate president Chong Sio Kin forecasts that housing prices in the city will drop by 20 per cent this year, Jornal do Cidadao reports.

The newspaper quotes Mr Chong as saying in an interview that the housing market will be depressed by the gaming market slump and the government’s measures to curb prices, should they continue.

“In the short term, I don’t see any beneficial factors appearing,” he said.
