Pay shows retailing labour market most imbalanced

The pay of shop staff shows the widest gap between what prospective employers offer and what prospective employees demand, the results of a survey by the Labour Affairs Bureau show.

The survey found that, on average, a would-be shop assistant demands MOP10,022 (US$1,252.75) per month, while a shopkeeper offers MOP7,376.

The pay of casino staff shows the narrowest gap between what prospective employers offer and prospective employees demand, a would-be casino staffer demanding MOP15,138 per month, on average, and a casino offering MOP13,932.
