Pay of hotel staff rises 8.4 pct in year to March

The average monthly earnings of full-time employees of Macau hotels were MOP16,430 (about US$205.75) at the end of March, by 8.4 percent more than a year earlier, official data indicate.

Statistics and Census Service figures show median monthly earnings in all occupations were MOP15,000.

Hotels had 45,817 full-time employees at the end of March, 2.6 percent more than a year earlier.

The average monthly earnings of full-time employees of Macau restaurants increased by 4 percent to MOP8,850.

The number of full-time employees of restaurants rose by 10.9 percent 25,260.
