One-third of estate agencies now duly licensed

The government has licensed 1,631 estate agencies, our sister publication Business Daily reports.

The newspaper says the Housing Bureau has so far rejected three applications for licences because the applicants refused to move out of their offices in industrial buildings.

A law that came into force on July 1 requires Macau’s estimated 5,200 estate agencies and 16,000 or more estate agents to be licensed, but prohibits them from working out of residential or industrial buildings.
