The inflation rate in October recorded a 6.18 percent year-on-year increase – the highest this year, according to the Statistics and Census Service. This surge is mainly led by the increased cost of eating out, higher rent for dwellings, and an increase in the price of vegetables. Among all the categories, the price indexes of Housing & Fuels and Health have risen 12.88 and 6.93 percent respectively. The price index of Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages also saw growth of 6.7 percent. Nevertheless, the price index of Communication dropped 2.54 percent compared with October 2012.
