November’s tourist arrivals rise 2 pct to 2.4 mln

Macau had about 2.4 million visitors last month, 2 percent more than a year earlier, the government says.

Arrivals from the mainland grew by 3 percent. They made up about two-thirds of the total.

More visitors came from Taiwan, Malaysia and South Korea, but the number from Hong Kong fell by 1 percent. Some 52 percent of tourists were day-trippers.

In the first 11 months of this year, the city had 26.7 million visitors, 5 percent more than a year earlier.
