When you start work after a break, especially a long one, you might feel a bit nervous. You might also have worries about what’s expected of you, and if you are doing alright. Your employer should make everything clear to you, and support you as you begin your new working life.
Rights at work
Your employer might want you to bring proof of your identity, such as a passport, when you start work. They might also carry out other kinds of checks, such asgetting in touch withthe references you gave. For some jobs, you might need a medical examination youremployer should tell you about this before you start the job.
If you are from another country, your employer might also need evidence that you have the right to work in the UK.
