Macau ranks 52nd on ILO report

According to a report published by the United Nations International Labor Organization (UNILO), the average wage earning of a Macau citizen ranks 52nd out of 72 countries and regions included in the study. While the average wage of $758 is not in exact U.S. Dollars, the number is represented in purchasing-power parity dollars (each PPP dollar equals what one U.S. Dollar can acquire in the United States). Despite the claim of an recent article in The New Yorker that in Macau the average citizen earns more than the average European, many residents in the special administrative region are under-compensated, according to the UN report.
