Chinese maids to get MOP 3,000 wages

Domestic helpers from mainland China will be allowed into Macau before the end of the year and their salary will likely be at least MOP 3,000, the secretary for Economy and Finance said last Friday.
Quoted by TDM News, Francis Tam Pak Yuen said the government is still negotiating the details with the Beijing authorities, but he revealed that authorities are looking to import Cantonese-speaking maids from Guangdong, and Fujian provinces or the Guangxi region.
Whether if they [mainland domestic workers] should be younger or older than 30, were still discussing that, he said. In terms of salary, based on a preliminary estimate, the salary level of mainland companies is relatively higher, when compared to domestic workers already working here. Very likely, the company will suggest a higher salary. Based on current standards, I think MOP 3,000 is the minimum, said Tam.
