The Macau Government Tourist Office will open four walking routes to divert tourists from the city centre in time for the next wave of visitors in early October.

Our sister publication Business Daily reports that the routes are on the peninsula and will be promoted before the next Golden Week – the mainland’s weeklong National Day vacation beginning on October 1.

Tourist office director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said the routes would “enrich tourists’ choices” and “drive prosperity to other districts”.

The final routes are not yet decided but they will take walkers to Ponte Horta in the Barra district, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, the Macau Tower, the northern district and Tap Seac Square.
