New chief regulator aims to reform law on gaming

The new head of the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau, Paulo Martins Chan, has said he intends to reform the law on gaming.

“On the basis of the mid-term review of the gaming industry here, I’ll fully examine gaming-related laws and the internal guidelines for VIP gaming promoters,” Mr Chan said after being sworn in as director of the bureau.

“Gaming laws and the mechanism for monitoring the industry will be gradually improved, so that the industry’s reputation for credibility and international competitiveness can be enhanced.”
