Morgan Stanley forecasts that Macau’s market for VIP gaming will recover in the second half of this year from its first-half difficulties.

The investment bank says it expects high-rollers to resume their role as drivers of casino gaming revenue.

It says the recovery will be due to improvement in the performance of the mainland economy, the absence of the distraction of the football World Cup and greater liquidity among junket operators.

However, Morgan Stanley forecasts that VIP gaming revenue this month will be 2 percent lower than a year ago.
