Macau had slightly more visitors over the Easter holidays this year than last, but fewer from the mainland, by far the city’s main source of tourists, Macau Government Tourist Office director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes has said.
Ms Fernandes said on TDM radio that the number of visitors between Friday and Monday had been 640,000, or 2.7 per cent more than during last year’s Easter holidays.
She said the number of mainlanders visiting for Easter had fallen by 3.5 per cent, but that the number of visitors from Hong Kong, Macau’s second-biggest source of tourists, had risen by 20 per cent and that the number from Taiwan, its third-largest source, had risen by 42 per cent.
