Money matters most to young workers

A survey by the Macau Federation of Trade Unions has found that pay is the most common deciding factor when young workers choose a job.

The most important reason workers were in their present jobs was pay and benefits, followed by working hours, and the employee’s interest in the work.

About 13 percent of respondents admitted having no career goals, while 45 percent said they had career goals, but they were not well defined.

The researchers questioned more than 1,000 workers aged between 16 and 29.
