Migrant workforce grows again to 122,000 people

Macau’s migrant workforce was 122,105 people last month, with 911 new workers finding work, official data shows.

This is another new record following June’s passing of the 120,000-worker mark for the first time.

Some 74,557 workers came from the mainland.

The hospitality sector was the biggest employer of migrant workers, accounting for more than one-third of the total.

With new casino projects underway in Cotai, the size of the migrant workforce is expected to grow.
