Melco Crown’s Studio City opens in Cotai today

Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd opens today its Studio City casino-resort in Cotai.

Melco Crown has invested The US$3.2 billion (about MOP25.6 billion) in the development.

Studio City president Jay Dee Clayton told a press conference: “Studio City is so much more than gaming. We are raising the bar to all of our competitors in making Macau an international must-see entertainment destination.”

Studio City has 1,600 hotel rooms, but will be allowed only 200 gaming tables to begin with and 50 more next year – fewer than the operator had hoped for.
