May visitors increase 0.9 pct to almost 2.55 mln

Macau had nearly 2.55 million visitors last month, 0.9 per cent more than a year earlier, the Statistics and Census Service says.

The service’s data indicate that almost 1.39 million were day-trippers, 2.6 per cent more.

The average visitor stayed 1.1 days last month, 0.1 day longer than a year earlier.

The number of mainlanders that visited fell by 0.5 per cent to just over 1.69 million, but more visitors came from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
