Mass-market gambling drives table-game profit

The mass-market segment is the biggest generator of profit from table games for Macau’s casinos, Bloomberg reports.

The segment generated 57 percent of all profits from table games in the second quarter, according to the news agency’s calculations based on company fillings and news reports.

Mass-market table revenue accounts for less than one-third of gross gaming revenue but yields significantly higher margins than VIP gaming – an estimated margin of 40 percent versus 13 percent.

Among the operators, Sands China Ltd derived the biggest mass-market profit during the second quarter, at 71 percent of its profit from all table games.

Wynn Macau Ltd derived the least profit from mass-market gamblers, with 43 percent of its profit from mass-market table games.
