MAINLANDERS TIPPED TO KEEP VISITOR NUMBERS GROWING

Union Gaming Research Macau thinks new restrictions on the abuse of transit visas by mainlanders visiting the city failed to reduce the number of visitors last month.

Official data show Macau had over 2.75 million visitors last month, 7.3 percent more than a year earlier. The number of mainlanders visiting rose by 12.7 percent.

Union Gaming Research says growth in the numbers of visitors has been faster so far this year than in the corresponding period last year, and that greater numbers of mainlanders visiting will keep the numbers growing.
