Macau tourist capacity report completed

The Macau government’s report on the city’s tourist capacity is finished and will be sent to the central government, Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On has said.

The central government will take the report into consideration in seeking to improve the individual visa scheme. The scheme gives citizens of dozens of places in the mainland visas to travel to Macau as individuals rather than as members of tour groups, who travel on collective visas.

Mr Chui said nothing about the contents of the report.

Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak said on TDM radio that the report covered ways to control crowds of tourists thronging the city and the border crossings.
