Macau banks take on more intl business in Q2

International assets made up 87.2 percent of the assets held by Macau banks at the end of the second quarter of this year, having made up 86.8 percent three months earlier, official data show.
The Monetary Authority of Macau says the proportion of their liabilities that were international liabilities grew to 82.8 percent from 82.1 percent.
The value of international assets was MOP1,018.9 billion (US$27.6 billion) at the end of June, 9.5 percent more than three months earlier, and the value of international liabilities was MOP968.4 billion, 10.1 percent more.
The biggest single portion of the external assets of banks was made up of assets in the mainland, and the biggest single portion of their external liabilities was made up of liabilities in Hong Kong.
