July visitors decrease 3.8 pct to 2.65 mln

Macau had almost 2.65 million visitors last month, 3.8 per cent fewer than a year earlier, official data indicate.

The Statistics and Census Service says the number of visitors from the mainland decreased by 6.1 per cent to about 1.76 million.

Fewer South Koreans visited, but more visitors came from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Over 1.35 million of last month’s visitors were day-trippers, 6.4 per cent fewer than a year earlier.

The average stay of each visitor lasted 1.2 days, or 0.2 day longer.
