Housing prices may increase by 10 percent or more this year, Macau General Association of Real Estate president Chong Sio Kin predicts.
“This is mainly supported by the fact that the demand will continue to outweigh supply,” our sister publication Business Daily quotes Mr Chong as saying.
The newspaper quotes the chief executive of Midland Realty (Macau) Ltd, Ronald Cheung Yat Fai, as saying prices could rise by up to 30 percent this year.
In the first 11 months of last year the average price of housing was 37 percent higher than in the equivalent period of 2012, official data show.
The average price was MOP81,582 per square metre.
