Housing prices increase by 7 pct in October

The average price of housing increased to MOP80,412 (US$10,052) a square metre in October, 7 percent more than in September, the Financial Services Bureau says.

It was the third month in a row that the average price had increased, but it remains under May’s record of MOP98,187 a square metre.

Housing prices fell after a law controlling presales of unfinished flats came into force in June.

There were 793 homes sold in October, the second month in a row that an increase was registered.
