Hotels being built will provide extra 9,600 rooms

There were 16 hotels under construction in the fourth quarter of last year, the government says.

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau says the projects will add another 9,600 hotel rooms to the city’s inventory.

Nine of the hotels will be on the peninsula and two on Taipa. The five hotels being built in Cotai will have about 7,500 rooms.

There are another 27 hotels at the planning stage that together contain 15,995 rooms.
