The annual International Hotel Expo opens today. The show aims to attract more than 500 professional buyers to form an Asia-wide industry league.
The scale of this year’s exhibition is larger than ever, with almost 180 booths showcasing a wide range of quality hospitality products including bedding and linens, guest room amenities, energy-saving kitchen equipment, lighting, intelligent devices, hotel furniture, carpets, high-end tableware, food and beverages, and so on.
Around 500 trade buyers have been invited to attend. They hail from countries such as Denmark, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and provinces of mainland China.
The ninth International Hotel Expo will be held at the Venetian Macao Hall A till Sunday, with the opening ceremony held at 11:30 a.m. today.
Three forums will be held concurrently; namely the sixth Seminar on Co-operation between Hotels and SMEs, which announces 2013–2014 hotel furniture trend forecasting, the International Forum on Sustainable Green Cities, as well as the seventh Asian Hotel General Manager Forum. There will also be the Asia Green Award ceremony after these forums, praising companies that are dedicated to eco-friendly products.
In addition, the inauguration of the Asia Hotel Industry league will take place tomorrow. Participating countries in the first year include the China Hotel Association, Thai Hotels Association, Malaysian Association of Hotels, Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines, Korea Hotel Association, and relevant associations from HK and Macau. The league will set up shop in Macau and use the city as the platform to “enhance exchange, intercommunications and co-operation of the Asia hotel industry.”
Incepted in 2005, the expo has recorded figures of more than 500 enterprises and more than 10,000 trade visitors, with more than 700 being foreign trade buyers, according to data provided by the organizer. Costal International Exhibition (Macau) Company Limited is organizing the expo.
