HK group offers Macau creative SMEs Hengqin land

A Hong Kong conglomerate controlled by prominent businessman Peter Lam Kin-ngok says it may reserve space for Macau cultural and creative enterprises on its newly acquired plot of land on Hengqin Island.

Lai Sun Group companies Lai Fung Holdings Ltd and eSun Holdings Ltd told the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that a subsidiary would develop more than 130,000 square metres of land on Hengqin after it won a 523.3 million renminbi bid (MOP682.73 million).

Lai Sun Group is planning to build facilities for film and television entertainment, workshops, performances, exhibitions and trade fairs, an auction centre and hotels on the block of land.

It is unclear how much land could be reserved for Macau small and medium enterprises.
