Govt to demand that casinos be more responsible

Secretary for the Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen has said the government will call for casino operators to be more social responsible when it begins next year considering the renewal or otherwise of gaming concessions.

Mr Tam was answering questions from Legislative Assembly members about the government’s response to the effects of the growth in the number of migrant workers on rents for housing and on public transport.

Casino operators are employing more migrant workers to build and staff new casino-resorts.
