The former head of the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau, Jaime Roberto Carion, says the government has made plans for sufficient public transport to cope with increased demand once restrictions on who can cross the border at night in the Zhuhai-Macau Cross-Border Industrial Zone are eased.
Mr Carion says more night-time bus services will be put on.
He says so in a written reply to an inquiry by a member of the Legislative Assembly. Mr Carion was still in charge of the bureau when he wrote the reply.
He also says preparatory work on the new border crossing in Ilha Verde will begin next year.
