Govt says minimum wage bill could be ready in June

The government says the bill on the minimum wage could be ready for submission to the Legislative Assembly next month.

Secretary for the Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen says in a written statement that the drafting of the bill is “practically finished”.

The government announced in February that the minimum wage for cleaning and security staff only would be MOP28 (US$3.51) an hour.
