Govt gives 805 SMEs MOP15.4 mln to set up websites

By April 30 the government had given MOP15.4 million (about US$1.93 million) to 805 small and medium enterprises in Macau to set up their own websites, Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute president Lourenço Cheong Chou Weng has said.

Mr Cheong said so in a written reply to an enquiry by Legislative Assembly member Chan Meng Kam.

Mr Cheong said Macau Economic Services had received 4,725 applications for money from its SME Website Fund since the fund was set up last September, and that most of the applicants were in retailing, property, hospitality or construction.
