Gaming receipts grow to MOP363.07 bln in 2013

Macau’s gaming industry had combined receipts of MOP363.07 billion (US$45.45 billion) last year, 18 percent more than the year before, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service says the industry’s combined spending grew by 14 percent to MOP156.65 billion. Operating expenses rose by 21 percent to MOP21.17 billion and labour costs rose by 13 percent to MOP16.18 billion.

Gaming’s gross value added increased by 21 percent to MOP225.87 billion.

Its gross fixed capital formation increased by 36 percent to MOP4.35 billion, owing to an increase in land premiums and big renovation projects.
