Galaxy Macau’s phase II on track: Analyst

Sun Hung Kai Securities says that Galaxy Macau’s phase II construction continues to progress well.

The Hong Kong-based brokerage firm said it spoke recently with representatives from Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd, and the casino operator management is happy with the progress of construction, with the piling already completed and work on the first two floors underway.

The new phase is expected to open in mid-2015.

Although labour remains a constraint, the gaming company believes friendly Macau government labour policies will help with the construction glut over the next three to five years, including phases III and IV, Sun Hung Kai Securities wrote.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Entertainment’s management also told the brokerage firm it has yet to see a slowdown in visitors to the casino due to H7N9 bird-flu concerns in the mainland.
