Francis Tam sees ‘low double-digit’ growth in Q1

Secretary for the Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen forecasts “low double-digit” annual growth in gross domestic product in first quarter of this year, the Macau Post Daily reports.

Annual growth in GDP was 14.3 percent in the fourth quarter of last year.

The newspaper also quotes Mr Tam as saying the government is closely monitoring the global economy, in view of the phasing-out of ultra-easy monetary policy in the United States.
