Fitch Ratings has reduced its forecast of annual growth in gaming revenue in Macau this year to 4 percent from 10 percent.

The rating agency says the reduction is due to continuing weakness in revenue from VIP gaming.

It forecasts that mass-market table gaming revenue will grow by 15 percent and slot machine gaming revenue by 5 percent, but that VIP gaming revenue will shrink by 15 percent.

“But we note that long-term fundamentals remain strong,” Fitch says in a report.
