Annual growth in gaming revenue will slow to 12 percent this year from 18.6 percent last year, according to Fitch Ratings.

Lack of supply will limit growth until the end of next year, when the second phase of the Galaxy Macau and Studio City are scheduled to open in Cotai, the French-American ratings agency says in a new report on Macau’s casinos.

The biggest threats to growth are changes to the mainland’s visa system and its economic health, the small number of casino operators in Macau, and greater competition from other Asia-Pacific region casinos.

The report says growth in the VIP gaming market will be facilitated by better infrastructure.
